A place where people gather
Van den Bergh Food, a major UK subsidiary of Unilever Plc, produces a wide range of well-known retail brands, including Hellman’s, Flora, Marmite, Olivio, PG Tips, and Pot Noodle. As part of a strategic review, VdBF explored new opportunities in the growing "out-of-home" food consumption market. The Ch’a Teahouse concept marked their first step in this direction.
Ch’a Teahouse was designed to spark a consumer revolution in the tea market by encouraging a reappraisal of the category, which had seen little innovation. Our collaboration with Unilever aimed to support their efforts to transform today's brand leader into tomorrow's success story.
Our work took into account shareholder investment and the need for a 40-seat teahouse offering both food and beverages. We provided comprehensive interior design services for both the front and back of house, created bespoke furniture and balustrade elements, and sourced decorative items. Additionally, we handled lighting specifications, navigated the planning application process, secured consent, issued tender documents, conducted cost analyses, and managed the overall project.
