The scheme for the içerenköy mall integrates
a new facade and branding treatment, interior design with geodesic roof lights, improved customer circulation and an enlarged food court
with external terraces.Constructed in 1996, this American-style mall is on the Anatolian side of Istanbul and comprises 194,714 sqm of the leased area including anchor tenants Carrefour SA, Bauhaus and Boyne
and 125 National and International brands.

A Turkish delight in Anatolia
The shopping mall houses 125 national and international brands. It draws almost 20 million visitors annually. Constructed in 1996, this American style Mall is located in the Anatolian side of Istanbul and comprises 194,714 square meters of the leased area, including anchor tenants Carrefour SA, Bauhaus and Boyner.
In response to the brief, we created a new brand identity and designed a scheme that integrates new entrance signage treatments to the facade, a geodesic roof light system, interior design, improved customer journey by relocating travelators with escalators and lifts and navigation systems for the centre.
We strategically place anchor stores, such as Boyner the large department store, the Carrefour hypermarket and popular retail chains, at various points in the mall to draw customers through the space and increase exposure for smaller shops. Ensuring a balanced mix of retail, dining, entertainment, and service providers helps cater to a wide audience and encourages longer visits. Including both local businesses and international brands attracts a diverse customer base.
We incorporate comfortable seating areas and lounges to enhance customer satisfaction and encourage longer stays. Providing play areas for children, family restrooms, and nursing rooms makes our malls more accessible to families. We also incorporate skylights and large windows to reduce the need for artificial lighting and create a more pleasant environment. Using eco-friendly materials and energy-efficient systems helps us reduce environmental impact and operating costs.
We ensure there is ample parking space, including accessible parking for disabled visitors, and easy access to public transportation to increase footfall and reduce the need for extensive parking. Comprehensive CCTV coverage and security personnel ensure a safe shopping environment, and clearly marked emergency exits and regular safety drills are part of our safety protocols.
We use interactive kiosks and mobile apps to provide navigation assistance and promotional offers, while offering complimentary internet access encourages customers to spend more time in the mall. Our design includes spaces that can be adapted for events, pop-up shops, and exhibitions, adding versatility to the mall environment. By incorporating art installations, cultural exhibits, and performance spaces, we strengthen the mall's role as a community hub.
