The management team of Continuum Holdings approached us to develop an interior design for Port City requesting we push the boundaries of destination retail design.
Nature influences the vision, with water and light being recurrent themes. Four roof vaults float above the expanse of the malls, capturing, then diffusing light to striking effect. The interior has been conceived in a distinctive modern style influenced by Ukrainian culture and folklore. In this spirit, all gateways into this virtual city are designed to enhance the uniqueness of each zone with emphasis on the strong way-finding. Each ‘welcome hall’ is themed from one of the four elements: Earth • Wind • Fire • Water. The mall is styled like balconied streets with ornamental balustrades.
